Josh Title started Cate & Levi in 2008. After graduating law school he only practiced law for a year, he was feeling drawn to do something more creative. He and his wife were expecting their first child and looking for high quality soft toys that were also responsibly made. Josh decided to roll up his crafting sleeves and produced a line of stuffed animals made from recycled sweaters. They quickly became popular and more products were added.
Cate & Levi’s recycled wool products are still one of a kind and use all recycled materials. Josh tries to source reclaimed sweaters from as close to his Toronto studio as possible, minimizing their environmental footprint. Their Softy line uses USA made polar fleece which is made mostly using recycled water bottles. Aside from making super soft puppets full of character, Cate & Levi donates part of their profits each year to local children’s charities.
