'Gold Dust' Pendant Necklace with Amethyst

'Gold Dust' Pendant Necklace with Amethyst

Clusters of glittering constellations and a sprinkling of gold baubles catch the light. Like a tiny universe this necklace by Christine Peters draws in the eye and stirs the heart. A single faceted amethyst, suspended in silver, hovers like a distant star. The sterling silver oval is sprinkled with gold dust and delicate baubles that dance across the oxidized surface.

- Measures 2" tall x 1.25" on 15" long chain
- Sterling silver, gold dust and amethyst

Inspired by the nature around her, Christine Peters has been creating one of a kind jewelry pieces since 1996, soon after she moved to Maine. She was originally trained in sculpture at Boston University, working in stone, clay, and steel.

Shifting to jewelry was a practical decision, which allows her to pursue her artistic creations with a bench and a torch, rather than needing a large studio. She received further training with Maine College of Art, Metalwerx, Haystack, and privately with several Maine jewelers. Now, she maintains a home studio where she works to consistently push her metalwork and design sense to new levels.

From the Artist:

Everything motivates me to create: a winter sunset, a branch, a bug, a tiny flower, the all-powerful sea. I am so fortunate to do what I love.
